33-year-old filmmaker Kosai Sekine made a stir worldwide with his 2005 short film Right Place. It’s glimpse into the world of an obsessively neat man working as a clerk in a convenience store who ust wants to find the “right place” for everything won him a string of honours including the Young Director’s Award/ Best Short Film at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and the Raindance Film Festival/DIESEL Film of the Festival Award. The success of Right Place has led Sekine to work in commeecials and music videos, one of which, Maledict Car for electronic music group Jemapur will also be featured at The Shinsedai Cinema Festival.
