Ritsuko (Ayako Moriya), a veteran worker at a plastics factory in rural Toyama Prefecture, is assigned to train a new employee Chinatsu (Sanae Konno) who also happens to be 8 months pregnant. These two women forge a friendship that is strained by Ritsuko’s recent miscarriage. Ichii’s at times gently humorous, at times heartbreaking sophomore film about grief and the healing power of friendship won the Grand Prix at the 2008 Annual Pia Film Festival.
