High school girl Saeko (Ayuko Ikawa) doesn’t like growing up in the middle of nowhere, she doesn’t like her father’s nail factory, and she doesn’t really much like her father either; but when dad, whose off hours hobby is crossdressing, faces bankruptcy Saeko steps up to help him out. Girl Sparks is a hilarious mix of fantasy and reality from 26-year-old Yuya Ishii, the hyper-prolific graduate of Osaka University of the Arts Film Program whose 2005 debut Bare-assed Japan won the top prize at that year’s Pia Film Festival.
