NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE co-presented with Reel Asian International Film Festival
30-year-old video artist and composer Takagi Masakatsu has toured with Sigur Rós, David Sylvian as well as directed music videos for Japanese recording artists Yuki and UA. On top of that he’s had nine solo exhibitions of his work and released over a dozen CDs and DVDs. With that kind of résumé why isn’t Takagi Masakatsu a household name? The Shinsedai Cinema Festival will try and remedy that situation by highlighting four of Masakatsu’s sumptuous short films as well as hosting the North American premiere of his recently completed concert documentary Aruongaku shot last November at the Grand Gallery of the Iwate Museum of Art in Morioka, Japan.
